TESTIMONIES

"The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple."
Psalms 19:7

Thank God for saving me. Thank Him for the change He made in me. Love and prayers.

Brother Donald Sensabaugh

I want to thank God for His blessings He is still sending my way each day. We just finished going to Big Camp and what a great time that was. Praise God, He knows what each one of us need. I got so much help this past week so pray for me. Jesus has a table spread where the saints of God are fed. He invites His chosen people. Come and dine! I went to the alter (the Banquet table) and there was a helping of healing for my kidney infection and that was just what I received. My healing from the infection I set there a few nights in pain, when the choir sang that song “Come and Dine”. God showed me the alter was the table that has been set. Praise the Lord! When I got to my seat the pain was gone. Glory to God!! He is worthy to be praised! Love and prayers.

Sister Betty Sensabaugh

Amazing grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me. I once was lost but now I’m found. Was blind but now I see. 2nd Kings 3:18 And this is but a light thing in the sight of the Lord. Love and prayers.

MY TESTIMONY...

"And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;"
Hebrews 5:9

Oh the love of God, how wonderful it is. I don’t understand it but I know it’s real. I thank God for saving my soul. When He saved me He brought me from a life of alcohol, drugs, and an eating disorder. I thought I was having the time of my life, not realizing I was on a downward spiral to Hell. And then it all took a toll on my body. I got so weak all I could do was lean on the wall and slide down to the floor. A doctor wanted to put my in the hospital and feed me through a tube. I said no then God let me know if I continued down that road I would spend eternity in Hell. I didn’t want that. He got me to a homecoming at Briary church. A revival started and I gave my heart to Jesus. He saved me, forgave me, and healed me.

He could have left me on the floor helpless but because He loves me He reached down His hand and pulled me out of the fiery flames. It’s not His will that anyone perish but all come to repentance. He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye. (Deuteronomy 32:10) Oh the love of God. Please pray for me and my family as I pray for you and yours.

"Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the Scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost."

BIBLE SCRIPTURE OF THE MONTH

“Jesus wept”
John 11:35

John 11:35, the shortest verse in all the Bible. Two simple words yet there is so much meaning to them. The act that these words describe occurred just prior to the resurrection of Lazarus. Some would say that Jesus was weeping over the death of someone that was close to him and to some extent maybe that is the case, but I believe there was more to it than that. I believe that Jesus was weeping over the unbelief of the people who were around him.

As you read the eleventh chapter of the book of John and look at the events leading up to, during, and after the resurrection of Lazarus you see first that the people criticized Jesus. You read that the people around knew of the miracles Jesus had already done in his life, such as healing the blind, yet they criticize him in this case. The people did exactly what a lot of people do today. They put the power of God in a box. Now at this time in Jesus’ life not everyone knew that he was the son of God but it was undisputable from what he had done that he was a man of God yet instead of faith Jesus was met with criticism. Jesus spoke of faith so many times and yet could find none even among people who testified of his miracles. The Bible says in the latter part of James 4:2 “…ye have not, because ye ask not.” The people around Jesus were to busy criticizing and complaining and not doing any asking. This should be a lesson unto all Christians as to what not to be.

This went beyond just the people around Jesus though, it stretched to the two siblings of Lazarus, Mary and Martha. Now Martha realized that Lazarus would be resurrected in the last days, but neither realized that they had the one who has resurrection power for both body and soul standing right in front of them. To me this testifies as to people who come to church and know things about Jesus yet for whatever reason Satan has sold them cannot see that Jesus can help them. Martha had faith in Jesus’ power while Lazarus was alive but that faith left once he was dead until Jesus set straight by telling her, “I am the resurrection, and the life…” I would say that when Jesus said those words it really shook Martha up and that is what the sinners that come to church religiously needs. They need to be shook down to their core and realize that Jesus can help them in whatever their situation may be.

Another thing that the verse shows to me refers me back to the book of Genesis and how it speaks of man being made in the image of God. Then to have Jesus, the son of God, weeping shows me that God has emotions and that disbelief hurts God just like if someone were to say evil things against us. The Bible tells us in John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” Now as most of us know, Jesus Christ is the living word of God and if he was with God and he was God then the fact that he cried is very important because it shows a picture of a tenderhearted God that loves. And just like with us humans who go through love, sometimes that love causes us pain. I can only imagine the pain God must feel for the millions upon millions of people who have and still are sending themselves to Hell based on their own decisions. I can only imagine how it must feel to tell so many people for so long what is right and wrong and to have them pick the wrong choice time and time again never to come into his glory. I suppose that is why Jesus said in the latter part of Luke 15:10, “…there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.” As you can see, just two words can say a lot.

"And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony. He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true. For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him."
John 3:32-34

Relinquish to God’s wisdom and will.

WORDS FROM THE LETTER BOARD

God demands a whole heart, will accept broken one.

Going to Church
By Unknown

Some go to church to meet a friend,
Some their idle time to spend.
Some for general observation,
Some for private speculation.
Some to seek or find a lover,
Some a courtship to discover.
Some to scan a robe or bonnet,
Some to price the trimmings on it.
Some to learn the latest news,
That friends at home they may amuse.
Some the parson go to fawn,
Some to lounge and some to yawn.
Some because it’s thought genteel,
Some to vaunt their pious zeal.
Some the preacher go to hear,
His style and voice to praise or cheer.
Some forgiveness to implore,
Some their sins to varnish o’er.
Some to show how sweet they sing,
Some how loud their voices ring.
Some to sit and doze and nod,
But few to kneel and worship God.

"Praise ye the LORD. Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints."
Psalms 149:1
